Thunder Ridge, Inc. - Winchester, VA 

      Facility:  Situated on 25 acres, Thunder Ridge has various sized paddocks that are fenced and cross-fenced in 4-board fencing, lighted with run-in sheds and automatic, heated waterers.  Turn-out is customized to meet your horse's specific needs.  Mares and geldings are generally kept separated and new horses are introduced gradually.  All pastures are maintained by routine mowing and removal of manure by use of a paddock cleaner.    

      The barn houses 12 roomy 12x12 or 10x13 stalls with solid walls, barred fronts with sliding doors and windows or dutch top doors in the back for viewing.  It is also equipped with an in-roof fan ventilation system as well as individual stall fans.  There is natural and artificial lighting throughout the barn.  A large, indoor, heated hot/cold washstall and tack room with hot/cold water is provided. 

      The lighted 70'x170' outdoor arena has a secure 4-board fencing with a 5-board round-pen attached via alleyway.  Professionally installed it is well-drained with white sand mix footing, excellent for all disciplines.  Jumping standards, ground poles, and obstacles are all available in ring or ringside.  Total facility maintainance is of high priority at Thunder Ridge.

 Full-Care Board:

• $430.00/month includes stall, daily cleaning and bedding added as needed.
• Grain (Southern States commercial feed according to your horse's specific needs) twice daily up to 8 pounds and includes Equimin vitamin/mineral supplement if needed.  We will add supplements(within reason) that you provide.
• Quality timothy/orchard grass mix hay is provided.
• Daily turn-out with horse clothing you provide(flymasks, protective boots, blanket change).
• Thunder Ridge practices the current method of deworming by monitoring your horse as an individual.  To determine your horse's needs for deworming and to prevent resistance to our available dewormers he will be tested at regular intervals by using quantitative fecal analysis done on site by the manager.  Regular weight checks will be a part of this program. (Deworming details and handling needs for your horse available upon request or discussed during farm visit.)  

 Field-Board:

• $300.00/month includes grain(Southern States commercial feed according to your horse's specific needs) twice daily up to 6 pounds.  We will add supplements (within reason) that you provide.  Equimin vitamin/mineral supplement is available.
• Pasture and when needed quality timothy/orchard grass mix square bales or quality ,clean, indoor kept timothy/orchard grass round bales is provided to keep your horse in healthy condition.
• Access to run-in shed shelter.
